Add in stress over supplies, “what if’s" & not sleeping well and we are mixing up a dangerous cocktail. 𝘞𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘶𝘱 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘴𝘰, 𝘪𝘧 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘬, 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘵. Here are my 5 immune boosting tips!

And it goes without saying that good hygiene and hand washing are crucial to fighting this.

Eat an abundant variety of whole, plant-based foods 🍎

Plants are LOADED with:

  • vitamins

  • minerals

  • fiber

  • protein

  • antioxidants

  • and have amazing immune boosting power

Try to get an assortment of colors into your diet everyday. Eat the rainbow!

Some of my favorites are:

  • greens

  • mushrooms

  • roasted veggies

  • quinoa

  • sweet potatoes

  • lentils

  • chick peas

  • cauliflower

Girl, drink your water 💦

Staying hydrated helps our bodies naturally eliminate toxins that may cause illness, and it carries oxygen to our cells.

Remember 8X8 (8 ounces, 8 times a day)

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! I love drinking water with lemon, acv or cucumber.

Practice stress management strategies 📚

When you are in a constant state of stress, your body is more prone to illness.

Some things that you can try are:

  • yoga

  • meditation

  • reading

  • journaling

  • getting outside for some vitamin D

My fave's are:

  • yoga

  • journaling

  • reading

  • going for a walk

  • talking it out

Stay physically active 🏃🏼

We all should be avoiding the gym and group exercise right now, but we can get moving at home.

There are so many FREE resources out there...trainers, the Y and people on IG are sharing away!

Some things that I am doing at home are walking, stretching, yoga and PIYO.

Other things that can be done from home are:

  • HIIT workouts

  • Running

  • Swimming

Get enough sleep 💤

No seriously, sleep is underestimated, but so crucial to overall health.

There are countless studies about sleep and so many others that are screaming at the rooftops about how important sleep is. IT IS TRUE!

Things that you probably don't think are disrupting your sleep really are.

Before bed, slow down and create a relaxing environment.

Do not:

  • watch TV right before bed b/c it stimulates brain activity

  • eat within 3 hours of going to be b/c your body is using all it's energy to digest that food

  • play on your phone b/c the blue light tricks your body into thinking that it is daylight

Some things I do every night are:

  • humidifier

  • salt lamp

  • read before bed

  • lavender oil

  • guided meditation

Now that we are getting the hang of #socialdistancing I think it is safe to say that we are totally rocking this. 💪🏽

Remember, progress not perfection!
